Meanwhile, the Chipmunks find an island and they sleep for the night. Dave enlists Ian's help to find the same island and begin looking for the Chipmunks. The next morning the Chipmunks go and find food and while doing so, an island castaway named Zoe shows up and sees the chipmunks for the first time. They then go to Zoe's tree house where Eleanor sprains her ankle and Simon gets bitten by a spider; its side effects including personality changes and loss of inhibition.
Everyone finds Simon awake and he cannot remember anything since the spider previously bit him. They discover that Zoe has taken Jeanette and they head towards the waterfall. When they approached the tree log to cross, Dave and Alvin decide to go and find Jeanette. As Zoe forces Jeanette to get the treasure in the cave by tying her to a rope, she reveals that she was never a castaway, but came to the island intentionally to find the treasure, but due to the effects of living alone on the island for ten years, her memory has been wiped out and is ruthlessly willing to find the treasure at all costs. Alvin and Dave come to her rescue. The island begins to rumble again and Zoe lets go of the rope and Jeanette runs with Dave and Alvin back to the raft. When they reach the log to cross, Dave almost falls.

The Island: Castaway is a new sim-meets-RPG game from Sahmon Games. The game combines a Virtual Villagers kind of atmosphere with gameplay reminiscent of Wandering Willows, putting you in the role of a castaway on a lonely tropical island. Gather tons of items you'll use to hunt, fish, build, cook and more, all while fulfilling the needs of your friends and uncovering mystery after mystery on the fog-shrouded land.
You only control one character in The Island: a poor chap named Tom who spends his time running back and forth fulfilling the requests of everyone else on the island. The game progresses through a series of small missions that start off very simple and gradually become more involved. Using just the mouse, click on items to pick them up and store them in your massive inventory. When someone needs something from you, he or she will light up with an exclamation mark over their head. Simply click and your new task will be added to the checklist at the bottom of the screen.
The story plays a large role in The Island, and while it's not the most original piece of writing this side of To Kill a Mockingbird, you'll feel drawn in by the ever-expanding level of intrigue introduced by island natives, strange languages drawn in the sand, and statues hidden in bushes. Exploration and discovery are strong parts of this game, and you'll always feel like there's something new waiting around the corner.
By far the most annoying thing about the game is that your character has to run everywhere; which would be ok if he didn't run in slow motion. Also it's not a small map and frequently tasks would have you running from opposite ends of the island to the other and then back again.. usually just to make some ingrate native a lovely leafy salad or something equally as pointless
Thanks, I found the edelwiess and finished the game and I seriously loved it. The only thing is the voices and of course, sometimes Tom's running from the top to the bottom of the island is a leeeeeetle Annoying but all in all I LOVEd it!
Yeah, this game was... okay overall, I agree with black_jimmy in that there's too much mindless navigating over the huge island! After the first hour I found myself clicking on the stars on the map, then letting Tom run across the entire island as I did my math homework. -_-
Just finished the game and I liked it, although I have to admit sometimes it got annoying when Tom kept running from top to bottom and from left to right. The only thing I 'hated' is that I'm always obsessed with getting gold trophies in each game. I managed to get them all except the one for exploring the whole island. I'm sure I explored the whole island except for a small piece on the lower right side (at the right of the cave where Nick and Amy where) but it's impossible to get there and I think that's the reason you won't get the gold trophy just the silver one. Anyone had that as well?
Though with the good comes the bad and once the excitement died down it got a little bit tedious to run around the island. I agree with the others that it could have had a better means to travel (especially through wild boar territory!). So far I don't know what the purpose of the island's design is... other than to be realistic. But game's are not realistic, or if they are somewhat are, they lean more on the aesthetic side of realistic. Am I making sense?
There's nothing else to say about the game except for the ending, which is a delicious cliffhanger for me. I'm kind of tired of games that involve being stuck in an island so the end scene really hooked me up and I'll be waiting for the next game. :D
Even though the story moved very from one "Quest" to the next, I still found myself wondering why the castaways never built shelters. I mean, it HAS TO rain on the islands. They needed some sort of protection from the elements. And, what an Outhouse? Sooner or later EVERY human being has to obey nature's calling. But, this too, was overlooked.

Parents need to know that Cast Away is a 2000 movie in which Tom Hanks plays a FedEx employee stranded on a desolate island for five years who must develop tremendous mental, physical, and emotional resilience to survive. There is frequent peril, beginning with the real-time plane crash in which Hanks' character must simultaneously avoid drowning and burning from the plane's wreckage. A dead body from the plane washes ashore. In a moment of rage, the lead character calls the island he is trapped on a "goddamn s--thole." In a scene that will definitely be too gruesome for more sensitive viewers, Chuck extracts a painfully sore tooth with a rock and the blade of an ice skate. His injuries draw blood, and his struggles to maintain sanity in the midst of so much isolation might be too intense for more sensitive viewers. 2ff7e9595c
