Street Fighter IV

After M. Bison's survival following his encounter with Akuma, the S.I.N. corporation began another fighting tournament in order to draw out the most powerful street fighters on Earth to complete the BLECE project. Each World Warrior has their own reasons for entering this tournament, but S.I.N.'s real desire is to lure Ryu to them in order to analyze the Satsui no Hadō, believed to be the last piece of data needed to complete BLECE.

An iOS version of the game was released on March 10, 2010. This, and subsequent mobile versions retains many of the console version's features, but contains a simplified combo system and replaces the original game's 3D polygonal fighter models with 2D pre-rendered sprites. In addition the game also includes Bluetooth multiplayer and Game Center achievements, and was released with eight playable characters, though more have been added through free updates. This version is no longer available to download on the iOS store.

Later a version called Street Fighter IV Volt was released for the iPhone and iPod Touch on June 30, 2011, which enables online play.[40] Another version called Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition was released on July 12, 2017, which features updated graphics and adds Poison, Ibuki and Dudley to the roster, increasing the total number of playable fighters to 25. An additional six fighters (Gouken, Rose, Elena, Juri, Guy, and Evil Ryu) were later added into the roster through free updates.

Released on April 27, 2010, Super Street Fighter IV is the first major update to Street Fighter IV. Super Street Fighter IV includes several new online game modes, five new stages, a new announcer and ten additional characters, as well as tweaks and changes to the existing ones, such as new Ultra Combos and additional costumes.[105] Among the added characters are returners T. Hawk, Dee Jay,[11] Adon, Guy, Cody, Ibuki, Makoto, and Dudley.[106] The newly introduced characters are Juri, a Korean taekwondo fighter who works as a spy for Seth's organization, S.I.N.,[107] and Hakan, a Turkish oil wrestler.[108][109] The game also featured new intros and endings for all characters from previous installment.

The update introduces six new stages, a different announcer and five new characters: Rolento, Elena, Hugo and Poison (all four of whom had been featured in Street Fighter X Tekken),[119] in addition to Decapre, a member of M. Bison's Dolls, who makes her first playable appearance in the series.[120] It has been revealed that, despite some of the new characters having been recently featured in X Tekken, their gameplay mechanics are substantially different in order to match the game's pace.[114] This brings the total number of fighters to 44. The game also adds a feature called "Edition Select" which, similarly to Hyper Street Fighter II, allows players to select different versions of characters, based on their properties in past Street Fighter IV iterations.[121] The update also adds a "Ultra Combo W" option, which makes both of the character's Ultra Combos available simultaneously, at the cost of them doing reduced damage.[113]

While Street Fighter IV features fighters and backgrounds rendered in 3D, the gameplay remains on a traditional 2D plane.Producer Yoshinori Ono has stated that he wanted to keep the game closer to Street Fighter II than its sequels, and as such the parry system from Street Fighter III has been dropped. A new system called Focus Attacks (Saving Attack in the Japanese version) has been introduced, as well as Ultra Combos. The traditional six-button control scheme returns, with new features and special moves integrated into the input system, mixing classic gameplay with additional innovations.

Street Fighter IV takes place several months after the events of Street Fighter II. After Seth's escape, the S.I.N. corporation began another fighting tournament in order to draw out the most powerful fighters on Earth to complete the BLECE project. Each character has their own reasons for entering this tournament, but S.I.N.'s real desire is to lure Ryu to them in order to analyze the Satsui no Hado, believed to be the last piece of data needed to complete BLECE.

The basic FightStick is considerably smaller in size, but has been reviewed[9] to be for intermediate players, and has the capability to be rested comfortably on a player's lap. The face of the controller is marked with a graphic displaying the original eight fighters from Street Fighter II, but it is clear the stick can be modded. The model retails at $79.99 USD for the Xbox 360, and $69.98 for the PS3.

Parents need to know that Super Street Fighter IV is an updated version of 2009's Street Fighter IV. Like its predecessor, players win by pummeling opponents using their fists, feet, and special attacks such as tossing fireballs. While fighters grimace after devastating strikes, players do not see anything bloody or gory. Some of the female fighters tend to wear skimpy, form-fitting outfits. The game is also playable online, a feature Common Sense Media does not recommend for children under the age of 12.

SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV is an updated, lower-priced version of 2009's Street Fighter IV. The follow-up allows players to choose from 35 characters and guide them through one-on-one brawls. Players can learn the fighter's story in Arcade Mode, practice in Training and Challenge Modes, or take their skills into the revamped online mode. Players can record fights and send them to friends as well. Each fighter has a series of punches, kicks and throws. Using a series of properly executed thumb-stick motions, players can execute special attacks such as fireball tosses or electrical strikes. Players can also perform Super or Ultra attacks that deliver extra damage.

Super Street Fighter IV is a significant upgrade compared to the previous game. The 10 new fighters offer a great balance between speed, agility, and power. The game also adds a handful of challenges that freshens up the single-player and training modes.

Families can also discuss the depiction of women in this game compared to other fighting games. Though some are scantily clad, the female characters here sport large muscles and look like capable fighters, while women in many other fighting are often very thin with over-sized novelty breasts. Do you find the women in this game to be more believable?

Players use the Nintendo 3DS' circle pad or directional pad to control their fighters, which allows players to jump, crouch, and move toward and away from opponents. Players use the face buttons in order to performs techniques such as punches, kicks, grabs, and "personal actions." The touchscreen can also be used to use these personal actions, which displays multiple icons for each action, though its nature depends on whether players have the difficult mode set on "Lite" or "Pro"; on Pro mode, such moves have to be performed manually. Players may filter online play opponents; this depends on whether they are playing in Lite or Pro modes. It features abilities such as "Focus Attacks" and separate meters for both "Super" and "Ultra" combos. When in the single-player mode, if toggled on, there are additional "bonus stages" which allows a chance to receive additional points, similar to the ones found in Street Fighter II.

Official Nintendo Magazine says "Easily the best fighter game on a Nintendo handheld and a must for fans of the series", and gave it a 91. [5] Yet another magazine, Game Informer, gave it a 90, stating "A complete game. Super Street Fighter IV is one of the best fighting games around, and players owe it to themselves to give it a shot."

Solo Play offers Arcade mode, which puts the player up against the other Street Fighters one at a time. It feels like a traditional game, with each match acting as its own level. Beat all the levels, and you beat the game. Survival mode tests your stamina, as it again pits you against the fighters one at a time, but doesn't reset your health meter. You will get health boosts from time to time, but for the most part, you're on your own until you're eventually defeated.

Evil Ryu enjoys absolute power and obsesses with fighting and will defeat any fighters standing in front of him with no empathy or respect. In Street Fighter IV he takes on a much more menacing and powerful appearance, with a gaping hole burned into his chest and his back that bears a glowing "Heaven"(天) Kanji.

As mentioned, the game includes four of the characters introduced in Street Fighter X Tekken. You have the hulking gang member Hugo, the sultry wrestling promoter Poison, the delusional military mastermind Rolento, and the joyous and underwear-clad African girl Elena. Joining them is Decapre, a Cammy-like figure who has appeared in cutscenes in older Street Fighter games, but has never been an actual fighter until now. That brings the final cast to a whopping 44 characters.

Super Street Fighter IV is a standalone update to Street Fighter IV, with new characters and backgrounds as well as re-balances to the original fighters move sets. All twenty five characters from Street Fighter IV return. Ten additional characters join the game, eight from Street Fighter games and a pair of all new entrants. The added characters are T. Hawk, Dee Jay, Adon, Cody, Guy, Ibuki, Dudley, Makoto. The two new characters to the Street Fighter series are Juri and Hakan. All characters are playable from the start meaning there is no need to go through the arcade mode to unlock any characters.

Fighting is significantly tweaked with many of the existing characters seeing the properties of their moves changed in the interest of balance. Each fighter now has two Ultra Combos. Like Street Fighter III before it, players can select which of the two Ultras they want to use when selecting a fighter. Also like SFIII, the Ultras are denoted as Ultra I and Ultra II. 2ff7e9595c
